About Us

Hi, I'm Penny! I've been passionate about dogs my entire life and have over 15 years of experience providing professional dog care services. What started with support to canine charities and helping neighbours with their beloved pets has grown into Penny's Pooches, a trusted name in dog boarding and day care.

I believe every dog deserves personalised attention and care in a loving home environment. My approach focuses on maintaining each dog's routine while providing plenty of love, exercise, and socialization. I'm certified in pet first aid and CPR, and I stay up-to-date with the latest in canine care and behaviour.

Fully licenced by Stockport Council, I can guarantee that no more than 6 dogs, from no more than 3 family units, will ever be boarded at the same time. This will normally include my own two dogs, Milly and Monty, who are the heart of our home and perfect ambassadors for what we're all about. Milly is a gentle 13-year-old miniature poodle who loves welcoming new friends and showing them the ropes. She's incredibly patient and has a natural way of helping anxious dogs feel at ease. Monty is our adorable but energetic 2-year-old toy poodle who brings joy and playfulness to every day. He's the perfect playmate for active dogs and loves organising games in our extensive back garden. Together, Milly and Monty help create a welcoming pack environment where visiting dogs can feel truly at home.

“Because Milly and Monty normally remain home when we welcome another dog to board with us, a condition of any board is a successful trial introduction and exposure to the home and garden. This is usually no more than 2 hours and can be planned to be as convenient as possible.”

Our Doggy Home

Our home is designed with dogs in mind. We have a large, securely fenced back garden where dogs can run, play, and explore safely. The space includes different areas for active play and quiet relaxation, ensuring every dog finds their perfect spot.

Inside, we maintain a calm and comfortable environment with designated sleeping areas, cozy beds, and plenty of toys. Our living spaces are dog-proofed and climate-controlled for year-round comfort. Each visiting dog gets their own special space where they can retreat and feel secure.

We believe in maintaining routines that help dogs feel at home. Regular meal times, structured play sessions, and quiet time ensure your pooch's day is balanced and stress-free. Our schedule is flexible enough to accommodate each dog's individual needs and preferences.

Safety is our top priority. Our property is fully secured with double-gated entry, and we maintain constant supervision during all activities. Emergency contacts and veterinary information are always readily available, giving you peace of mind while you're away.
